How to Update Your Haptique RS90 Firmware (3GB Version)

This guide walks you through updating your Haptique RS90 (3GB model) to the latest Android firmware using over-the-air (OTA) update. The release improves security, stability, and performance.

What’s New
- Complete removal of Badbox2 malware for enhanced security.
- Google Mobile Services replaced by MicroG (lighter and more private).

Note: After the update, apps that depend on GMS may require MicroG setup.
Before You Update
- Charge your controller above 50% and keep it connected to power (USB or dock).
- Ensure a fast, reliable Wi-Fi connection (update size is ~1.2 GB).
- You can download now or postpone, but we recommend installing promptly for your security.
Update Process (OTA)
- When a pop-up appears on your controller, tap Update to begin the download.
- Wait for the download to finish. Keep your device powered and connected to Wi-Fi.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to install the firmware.
Typical duration: Installation takes about 5–7 minutes. Your device will reboot and return to the Haptique UI.
After the upgrade, your controller may appear as a new device. If needed, reconnect it with the configuration app.
What is Next!
- Open Settings → Installed App.
- Find and install the Aurora Store (an open-source alternative to Google Play that does not require Google credentials).
- We recommend using Aurora Store anonymously on the Haptique RS90.
- Optional: Install alternative launchers such as Nova Launcher to customize your UI.
